Snow Days

Yesterday, Cooper was scared of the snow. Today, he woke up and immediately wanted to go play in the snow. So, he and I proceeded to put layers of clothing on and take a few minutes to play outside this morning. It must be love when a mom would go out into the freezing cold to play in snow before having coffee or breakfast.

Cooper learned how to throw snowballs even though this wasn't really the snow for it.

The snowballs just fell apart in the air. However, this didn't stop him from trying.

I then had to shovel a path to Cooper's playhouse because the snow was too deep for him to walk across the yard. By the time we got there, I was sweating and didn't even realize that it was close to freezing outside. After the subzero temperatures we've been having, it felt like we were having a heat wave anyways!

Cooper decided that he loved snow!! He realized that it was a little like a snow cone or ice cream. So, he proceeded to have a taste!

And, he LOVED it!! Of course, Daddy had to ruin his fun with the responsibility aspect and how the snow could have bacteria in it and make him sick. So, he didn't get more than just a taste.

A few tears later, he made the daunting trip back to the house. Or, did he eat his way there and back???

The snow is finally starting to melt today. I'm sure we will get it half way melted just in time for our next storm on Tuesday!
In case you didn't know, we moved to the arctic...
 ...or so it feels.

Mickey Mouse Live!

We were given free tickets to Mickey Mouse Live on Saturday! Cooper was so pumped when he learned he was going to get to see Mickey Mouse again. Then, at the last minute, Grandma and Grandpa got an invitation as well.

At first, Cooper was a little nervous sitting in Grandpa's lap. Once the show was on the road, Cooper warmed up to the idea.

Donald Duck taught Cooper to shake his tail feathers. The next morning, Cooper woke me up by telling me to get up and shake my tail feathers. Ha! That was just priceless!!!

Of course, Cooper saw all of the other kids that had the spinning light sticks. Then, $22 later, Cooper had one too. Nothing is too ridiculously priced for my angel.

The show was Mickey Mouse's magic show. He and Minnie welcomed a slew of their friends to do magic tricks for the kids in the audience. I have to admit, a few of them even boggled my mind!

At intermission, Cooper got to enjoy some chips and coke. Man, we let this little guy get away with murder. We just love our little boy!!!

The grand finale!

Cooper wanted to sleep in his Mickey shirt. Then, Daddy got up and made him a Mickey Mouse pancake. However, they were pumpkin flavored. Cooper didn't end up liking them, so we had to improvise with a regular old waffle. His favorite!!!

THANK YOU FOR OUR TICKETS NATALIE!!!

Surprisingly Springy Winter Day

We had the most beautiful 70 degree weather on Saturday. As I sit here, snowed in the house for the second day in a row, I would like to take a moment to remember the wonderful day Cooper and I had playing outside. When, oh when, will we have another beautiful day like this??

We climbed on the playhouse and played football. We both had itchy arms when we came in from rolling around in the grass.
I live for moments like this!!
Although I hope for a little girl one day, I love rough housing with my boy! How will I transition into princesses and pink one day if I am blessed with a baby girl??
Oh, I'm sure I can manage.

One More Christmas Celebration

Our final Christmas celebration was with all of Kenny's family. Cooper and Mason had a great time playing together and opening presents.

Look how handsome Cooper looks. Aunt Leslie sent him a Polo sweater that he looks absolutely adorable in. She and Uncle Jason also got him the cutest plaid Sperry shoes for Christmas.

Is there anything cuter than a little boy opening presents with that gleam in his eye??

Jimmy and Lisa got him the little Radio Flyer car he is sitting on here. He now zooms on the entry way tile until he hits the front door. It's pretty entertaining to watch!

We really did have a lovely holiday.
Thank you to everyone who helped make it so special for us!!

Christmas Morning

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Looks like someone was a really good little boy this year. Santa brought Cooper a kitchen, play food, and a stocking full of goodies.

Cooper was so excited when he came out of his room and found this! He immediately went to the cups and coffee pot (just like Mommy and Daddy). He kept coming around to us offering cups of coffee.

On to the stocking...check out that look of determination. Is he on a caffeine high??

After Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Jason made it over, Cooper had the green light to dig into the rest of his gifts! Woo hoo!! There were so many that he would lose interest for a while and just want to play with whatever was already opened. Maybe we will scale it back a little next year.

Who am I kidding?? We probably won't. That's why I have to get down there to help. Cooper had a break right before this. As you can see, he has his police hat on. We got his attention with this gift. Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!!

Cooper is a Toy Story fanatic. He got a pair of Woody PJs and Buzz Lightyear PJs. He immediately wanted to put the Woody pair on. So, we put him in the Woody PJs and let him put his cowboy hat on just like Woody.

Then, we got his "Bullseye" out of his playroom for him and Woody to take a ride. Cooper spent hours in this outfit playing with Woody. We probably watched Toy Story 3 20 times that day!! Or, so it felt like it.

Overall, this was an extremely special Christmas morning. This was the first Christmas that Cooper actually understood what was going on. He had a great time! We had a lovely time hosting family for Christmas brunch as well.
I'm already looking forward to next year!

Christmas Eve

We traveled to Henryetta to visit Granny and Papa on Christmas Eve! But before we left, we had to sprinkle our 'Magical Christmas Dust' in the front yard so that Santa would be able to find our house.
Just in case you are curious, 'Magical Christmas Dust' is a mixture of oats and red and green glitter that you sprinkle in your yard on Christmas Eve. The smell of the oats help guide the reindeer, and the moonlight reflects off the glitter to help guide Santa to steer in your direction.

We emptied 2 bags in our yard to insure that Santa didn't miss us! Yes, I know...Cooper looks thrilled. He was a little tired. Once we got in the car, he fell asleep almost immediately!

Once we got to the farm, Cooper was good to go. He played around waiting for every child's favorite past time...opening presents. In this particular instance, he was playing with the cardboard rolls that wrapping paper comes on. It's the simple pleasures in life that can keep a young boy busy.
Please notice Cooper's rocking cowboy duds. Granny made a trip to the western store in Henryetta to get him an outfit just like Papa's. He has some really cute boots too!

Every holiday, Cooper loves to hang out with Granny in the kitchen. He always wants her to hold him while she cooks. I'm so thankful that he will have these special memories because I have some of the very same in this very kitchen!

Now, time for the main event! We all gathered around the living room like we have for years so we could exchange Christmas gifts. But, who are we kidding?? We know it is all about the little one now. Megan, KR, and Ashley should get a little attention though...

Cooper had a blast opening his gifts. Football, Thomas & Friends gear...

...and Dance Star Mickey! He thought Mickey was absolutely hilarious. We all did for that matter.

After Cooper was finished, he ventured over to Papa to help him open his stocking. As you can tell, his proud Papa didn't seem to mind.

Once we got home, it was time to set out some cookies and milk for Santa and head off to bed. It almost looks like Cooper's shrine to Santa because we put all 3 years of his Santa pictures out for Christmas decorations. Ha!

When we got the cookies out, Cooper just couldn't resist. He had to have a cookie too. How can I say 'no' to that??? It's Christmas!

The funny part, Cooper only ate half of his cookie, and then he decided that he would share the rest with Santa. A little extra last minute generosity to insure an abundance of goodies!!

Christmas Eve is such a special memory! We feel so incredibly blessed to have this wonderful little boy to welcome the magic of Christmas into our home.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Shall we play a little catch up again? I'm snowed in, so this is the prime time to catch you up on what's been going on with the Yarbroughs since December!!

Daddy's birthday was December 12th, and we celebrated around the coffee table. Each of the boys got to pick out their own mini-birthday cake at Target. Cooper loves him some birthday celebrating! Notice, he has candles to blow out in his cake too.

One, two, three...Happy Birthday to You...blow out the candles...

High five!!! Good job boys!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!! We love you.
